How Are You Blessed?
We all are blessed in some way, in something. We each get something beautiful in life, sometimes more than one. What’s your amazing blessing?
Stormy Beach Toilet
The storm was getting worse. The darkest clouds I’ve seen propelled at, thrust over and tumbled past the mountain peaks, shoving the wind out front. I felt this mountain storm way before I saw it.
Crumpled up in a ball in the dark
My nervous system was fully aware, awake and in action. Every nerve ending was buzzing, pinging, every single one. My body was at the mercy of all the jolts; compulsively shifting and shaking and twitching. I was barely able to hold my form.
I Couldn’t Open the door
I couldn’t believe it. My hand wouldn’t open the door. It was like the signal from thought to action was completely severed. I wanted to open the door. I had walked up to open the door.
Bridges are needed
We all need a bridge from where we are to where we want to get to. This is as true in business as much as in family. An oftimes forgotten part of the equation is actually, the success of the endeavor.
Waste? What?!
What waste is, is apparently a constantly running theme or moral I adopted. Now it’s under my conscious thought. My fight tends to be centered in ‘not wasting.’
The Car Chase
We were allready away from home, training for deployment to Afghanistan. There was a moment when I was a tad bit more frustrated than I was able to deal with in a composed way, without some outlet.
Being Powerful Part II
In some historical as well as in current practices, certain companies or powers and societies in general; abuse, assault, even rape as a form of gaining power over others. This is also called forms of bullying and this is ‘might makes right’ Machinavellian power.
Being Powerful Part 1
Machiavellianism is a belief system from a same named character in historical accounts characterized by a tendency to see other people as a means to an end or the ‘might makes right’ attitude.
I Had To Decide My Value
I took part in a planned process about choosing whether to survive. For those few of you that understand what I am saying, kudos, you've been to a personal development seminar. If you haven’t, no worries, we are all still doing what the process teaches all the time, and that is the relevant fact here.
Being Alone
I’ve spent stretches of my life feeling very alone. And I have actually been alone at certain times and places. When I have chosen that, I relish in the time and the recuperation I receive from being alone. When the negative alone happens to me, it’s because I want something else to be true, not what is.
I Judged A Woman
At a personal development seminar I recently attended, we were asked to, while we went out to lunch, to not only eat, but to improve someone's life. Just to have that intention and focus.
Picture this
Picture this, an 11 year old, shy blond girl at a summer camp she was excited to do. Sweatered and skinny, she thought it might be a little cold yet for hiking this morning.
Principles, standards or boundaries?
Principles, standards or boundaries? Principles are eternal truisms like kindness or that life has value. In any culture or century it’s always true. Standards are living by principles.
Fundamentally I’m opposed
Fundamentally I am opposed to be mean and rude to people, even those who are being rude and mean to me. Now, that statement does not mean I cannot be nor have not been my share of that, and for sure we have all experienced our double share of that from others.
I went to a personal development seminar
I went to a personal development seminar. It was the first I’ve been to in years, since before Covid. I’ve gone to enough to get a degree. I’ve worked at others enough for a dual degree.
My perspective is…
I was riding in the car with my husband one afternoon. It was a warm spring day outside. We were headed toward the theater and it’s dead center in a shopping area near me.
5 lessons from a dental chair
As I sat there, or rather, as I laid back in the dental chair; I didn’t really have anything else to occupy my mind other than with my own thoughts. Maybe it would have been a nice distraction if they had offered me a movie like they do for children.
working with me
I recently made my garden into a greenhouse. I was out working on my garden and had a surreal but pleasant experience. Ok, I know you're gonna think I’m loo loo, but I just had the subtly peaceful sense of my greenhouse garden plastic cover working with me, helping me if you will.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
